The movie was filmed mainly in color. The movie was about actors/actresses filming black and white silent movies and then upgrading to "talkies", so parts of the movie are in black and white.

"Singing in the Rain"- wow, what a wonderful movie! It was filmed in glorious technicolor- a gem of the 1950's. Makes me wish it was raining outside and I had an umbrella close by!

No, in color. But the story is about old time movie actor Don Lockwood played by Gene Kelly, and the parts that are of Don acting in the movies (silent movies and then talkies) are in black and white. The rest is in color. I hope that makes sense! Great movie.
