To me it is a day to celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

What about you?

The true meaning to ME is; a man made holiday 25 December, created by Greeks which at that time was an extremely homosexual society. As an act of paying homage to the Sabinalia or Sabin (Homosexual God to Greeks) was a day of celebration where men had all day orgies with each other and legally terrorized women. Since it was such an important holiday, a day of "Thanksgiving" it eventually became an important day for early Christianity to parallel the existance of Christ and not his actual birth. Throughout history it has been passed down as his birthday which is false.

Christ (which actually is his title not his birth name, but a Greek title meaning "One who is annointed" or Hebrew (Messiah). Jashua Bonoia is his birth name. I may have spelled it wrong!

Trust me, none of this is a put down on Jesus (I believe his acts to be true) or Christianity, only the way his history has been handed to us. Falsely! Most Christians don't like to hear the negative side that Christianity has played. I know it dark years and in knowing I have been able to better defend it when it comes under fire.

For instance, why are all pictures of Jesus white? Emporer Constintine commissioned Michael Angelo to paint all pictures of God in the image of a white man. The purpose was to give the illusion that white people are closer to God since they started and embraced Christianity first. Even though the very people that started the religion(Romans), killed its figure head, Jesus Christ!

I know I will offend a few folks with this answer instead of it being seen for what it is, a history lesson.

You're right! It's the birthday of Jesus Christ. Over the last few decades, Christmas has been commercialized more and more. It is also celebrated by people who do not believe in god. They want gifts. The religious significance has almost been lost because the retail industry has pushed hard to focus the Holiday on giving gifts or presents to one another. This is shown when the term X-mas appears instead of the traditional Christmas. Some religious Christians observe a month of fasting !

I hate to be the one to say it, but Jesus was not born on December 25! I know, I know, I once thought that was why we celebrated Christmas as well, until I discovered that he was born sometime in the summer! I watched the Discovery Channel, and they had a big episode on how the stars were aligned and actual Bible versus lead one to believe it was in the summer. Sorry. Now, I think we celebrate Christmas for the gifts! Sad, but honest. I mean, if it were about Jesus, why do we give people gifts? It's just the man trying to make us spend money, because parents fall into the trap!

It's a fun day to trade presents, cozy up with the family at home, have a great dinner, eat candy, watch the kids play with their new toys, enjoy family.

To me it is a time to be grateful for what I have in my life. To spend some valuable time with family, friends and loved ones. To have some silent time and give thanks to my Higher Power for the life I have been given.
