no such thing as iron the element ( separate in nature that is )it is in one of three forms iron ore ( sold per ton ) iron pyrite and iron the metal ( refined iron ore but not pure ) varies as too type and grade

labs use pyrite or iron powder ( chem supply houses have them )

pure iron is so reactive with oxygen that it would rust away in no time ( in fact a fine powder oxidizes so fast that it is used to make welds in special applications )
