I know that tests say as early as your first missed day, but is it possible to take them any earlier than that?

Some of them advertise that you can take them 4 days before your missed period. In my last pregnancy I took a test on monday and my period was due on thursday. It was positive.

However, if it comes back negative, don't be discouraged. Wait until you are a few days late then test again.

With my first baby I couldn't get a positive with a HPT till 2 days after my period. With my current pregnancy I got a postive result 8 days before my expected period. I called the dr and they did a blood test to confirm.

First Response is supposed to be able to test accurately as soon as 4 days before you miss your period. I always wait until the first day after though just to be certain!

Well I took First Response pregnancy test when I found out that I was pregnant. I took it the day that I was supposed to start my period and it came out positive. I would reccomend using one of those tests, not any old cheap one. It worked for me.
