Losing a friend is very hard. I recently lost a friend. She didn't die or anything we're just not friends anymore. Remember that sometimes people come into your life for seasons and just like the seasons change so do the people in your life. As long as you learned and grew from the situation everything will be fine.

Yes, my so called best friend turned against me when I was ten years old, and then when I was in college I had another really close friend who I guess you could say changed in the opposite way when I was starting to grow up a bit, and we had a terrible fight and never spoke again. There are others as well who kind of fell by the wayside, but those two bother me most. Now I'm 37 and it still bothers me a little bit- but not that much. I have friends I really deeply care about who will probably be friends for my whole life, so I'm just grateful that I learned how to tell the difference between the long term keepers, and the ones who came into my life in an intense kind of way then burned themselves out. One of the things I noticed is that true friends often take longer to get to know, so don't give up on those shy people.

There are some friends who I used to be very close with but we eventually just drifted apart. There are other friends I was close with but I decided to leave them after finding out they talked behind my back and made fun of me. It was a very tough and painful decision to make, but it was the best one to make. If your someone's real friend, theres never an excuse to backstab them. I will never forget them. They were a part of my life and they will always be a part of my memories because they hurt me a lot. Once someone hurts me, I may eventually forgive, but I NEVER forget.

Time makes it easier...but you always remember. I would pity the person who was so cold that they could forget.
