Just tradition.
In the west, men who wear make-up are after other men.
In some societies they do it to attract women.

For me yes and no! There are some men that would probably just look ridiculous (e.g. very manly men, such as Russel Crowe, or Bruce Willis), but then again there are men that look good with make up (e.g. Billy Joe of green day, Brian Molko, the guy from Eton Rd on X factor). I think that there is nothing wrong with men wearing make-up if they want to. The only reason people may think it is weird is because obviously it is not something that is widely/socially acceptable: We are socialised to view men as 'manly' and that make-up is feminine. Many men now-adays where make up, especially on TV. Guaranteed I bet all TV/movie stars have some make-up applied to them, such as a little foundation, or powder, or even a little mascara. I think we are seeinga growing trend towards men wearing make-up which is a good thing, because being able to lok good should not just be a woman thing.

It is the way that women were "conditioned" I hate to say it like that, but, from back in the day a woman has always had to "look her best", but then, things were more external. Everything on the outside, was made to look perfect. Perfect house, perfect wife, perfect mother, etc... I think through the generations, women have endured a lot, as far as keeping apperance's up go. On all levels. I mean, thank god I did not have to wear a corsette!! can you imagine the pain? It is all around us in the media, music videos, etc... Women ARE, and always will be I think, used as tools, in this manner. But now, in today's times, there are some great campaigns, such as dove. It is great, they encourage women to be as they are!! And that external apperance is not the only factor!! It is cool to have this awareness alive. It is possible for men to wear make up. They have their own brand!! At least mac does for men. I read that online, at their website. I think it is a persons choice. Whether it be a woman or a man. People have their own styles nowadays... Which is also great!!!

Personally, I think that the whole make-up thing regardless whether it is for men/women is completely overrated. In my opinion, wearing makeup is simply hiding who you truly are. If you require makeup in order to attract men/women then you probably don't want to be with whoever is attracted to you. They are simply attracted to the paint job. Real beauty comes from what you are born with and if someone can't like you for that, then the relationship wouldnt work from the get-go. If you show yourself for what you truly are and who you were born as, then there is no mistake if someone loves you....because they love you for YOU.
Take care.

no way.... the reason guyz don't wear make up is so they let the females be females...you know what i mean ain't no sense stepping over boundaries.. a guy who wears make-up outside his job i.e actors... seem somehow weak. i know if my boyfriend wore make up i couldn't stand it... imagine this make up with designer stubble it doesn't just go.. there are other ways of make yourself attractive to females.. take a shower, shave, use a nice fragrance and dress nicely.. and have a sense of humour... thats how to be a man..no need for make up

I don't really think it would work.
Attractiveness in women is linked to cues of fertility. These are wide, bright eyes (hence use of mascara, eyeshadow, etc.), a small nose and full lips (hence lipstick).
Male cues of fertility are a square jaw and strong brow - both of these are largely unaffected by make-up. Moreover, females are more sensitive to cues related to the male's resources and therefore facial cues of attractiveness may be irrelevant anyway.

I would say it depends on what type of skin you have. For example: if you have acne yes you can buy oil free make up to cover up the blemishes. If you have perfectly fine skin then no. A lot of these actors have make up on.
