I asked my guy friend for his number in a casual and non shalant way but he wouldn't give it to me. He continued to joke giving me his area code(like I don't know) and making up numbers. Was he just joking, didn't think I was serious, or does he really not want me to have his number? (We have been friends through school for about 5 yrs. now).

Well girl if he didn't give you his number maybe u should let it go because eventually he may ask for yours and when he does u can do the same thing and see how he likes it

He was trying to delicately get through an uncomfortable moment without hurting your feelings. After 5 years of friendship, if he is not willing to give you his number than he is for sure giving you a sign that he isn't interested.

Ask him maybe. why is it that a lot of people want to ask everybody what somebody else is thinking just ask the person. If you are afraid they may not tell you the truth then you evidently can't trust them and should find a different friend. Everybody tries to be "Cleo the psychic and then wonders why they have misunderstandings with people they are "SO CLOSE TO". so close they can't even ask a simple question without being afraid of deception. sad sad world

Either your guy friend is trying to stop you from getting hurt, or he wants you for himself. Your guy friend my think that he was getting close to you for love, and when you ask him for his friend's number, you may have broken his heart, because he may have some things to show you if you want to see or do them.

He doesn't want you to call him. Period.
He tryied to avoid the situation and try to laugh it off so your feelings would be hurt. If he was interested, he would not had hesitated to give it to you.
