Labonotation?

What is the origin of, and who invented, labonotation (the transcription of a choreographic pattern to paper)? Is there a guide to learning it?

I don't know who invented it. My guess it developed over ages because people needed to record dance moves somehow. Check this out, I don't know if this book is any good,
