I used to have dandruff so I used Selsum Blue anti-dandruff shampoo. It did clear my dandruff away. So I stopped using it and changed it to Pantene. After awhile the dandruff came back again. So I changed my shampoo to Selsum Blue again. And I noticed that when I wash my hair, my hair drops ALOT! I'm really scared that by the time I reach 22 I have patches of baldness on my head. And I'm a GIRL! Also my hair gets really oily after 2-3 days.

Help! What should I do? Any good shampoos or treatments? Or should I go to a doctor?

My step-sister also experience the same problems.

Help?

Protien, protien, protien. If you aren't getting enough protien in your diet, your hair will fall out. It's possible that the Selsun Blue is just speeding that up because of the chemicals.

The oil is natural, some people have more than others. Personally, my hair is oily before the end of the day, which sucks. The good thing is that those oils are good for your hair so don't wash too often. Any good hairdresser will tell you not to wash your hair every day. It's actually not good for you. Let those oils stay in your hair for a day and just put your hair up and no one will notice. This may also strengthen your hair.

But really, make sure you are getting enough protien in your diet and see a doctor if you feel it's still coming out too much.

It's normal to lose over 100 hairs a day, and when your hair is long that can look like a hell of a lot. Unless you can acutally see your hair thinning at the scalp, you don't really have anything to worry about.

Also, Pantene is full of silicones which can hide damage (but not make it go away). When you use a shampoo which is strong enough to wash off the silicon layer, the damage that was being hidden shows though and hairs can finally break off. Using Pantene isn't going to stop the damage happening, it just hides it.

Well done for only getting oily hair every couple of days! Many people who wash their hair too often get oily in 1 day. Washing less often is the only way to solve it.
Make sure you have a good diet, it helps hair grow strong. Taking a vitamin supplement can help as well.

The shampoo may or may not be your problem. It may be your testosterone is too high.
Change your shampoo, if your hair loss doesn't go away go to your DR.
