She was sleeping 8 hours before she hit a growth spurt and since then she'll go down at first for 5 hours and then up every three. I do feed her the first time she wakes, but try to put her down without feeding her again, sometimes I can and others I can. Any ideas of what I can do?

try feeding her some baby cereal before she falls asleep. I give my daughter a bath and then the cereal. she wakes up maybe twice during the night for a diaper change and a bottle. she is 4 months old. at night she drinks about 2 ounces.

My daughter had the same problem..I was confused and frustrated at this behaviour and thought she would never sleep through the night again. I found out her problem by doing a little bit of research and talking with my family and friends. I started giving her cereal with a fruit/veggie twice a day along with her formula throughout and this cured her inability to sleep peacefully though the night like before. Alot of people will tell you to wait for solids while others will say there is nothing wrong with it..The way I see it is that every baby is different and develops and grown differently therefor if doing something is going to help your baby stay calm and be healthy than go for it and don't feel guilty!! Hope this helps.

What does the baby eat?? If its formula only then try giving them some thin baby cereal before bed time. SOunds like she isnt getting full before bed time. If shes already on cereal try thickening it or adding some banana baby food to it. She needs a full tummy.... This isnt always the case. I have a 2 year old that still doesnt sleep through the night....Hes just full of energy. But I would try the food first and see if it helps her sleep. Also try a warm bath right before bed time.

If you are breast feeding then this is pretty normal. She is probably still going through a growth spurt. Since your baby is just about 4 months you could start giving her rice cereal. Starting it out pretty runny and once a day in the morning and slowly giving it to her in the morn. and at night. But I recomend talking to your doc

Your baby is probably hungry. If you are breastfeeding I do not have much advice. However, I have four children and a nice bath followed by a warm bottle (cereal optional) should suffice. I am not sure how much you offer her, but if she is drinking everything in one feeding try offering her more. My girls were on about 6 ounces at that age.

Every baby is different but try to give her a warm bath and massage her with lotion and feed her a cereal bottle. Make sure that she is not to hot or to cold. Good Luck.

I have a 3 month old and he sleeps for five hours at night and I feed him 4.5 oz of formula. If you're breast feeding maybe she doesn't get full. Try giving her formula as well at night.

Have you taken her to the Dr. My son was doing that and I thought he was just hungry. Little by little he was sleeping less and less. I took him to the Dr. and turns out he has an ear infection. When they have an ear infection, the pressure in the ear is painful when they lay down. Take her to the Dr and just check it out.
