Yes, perfume loses it's original scent. The scent of a perfume that is a splash on will most likely lose it's original scent before one that is sprayed from a bottle.

From my experience yes. Once they have been opened and exposed to the air, they begin to lose their scent over time.
For the record, I am referring to perfume that begins at $55.00 for 1.2 ounce & $75 to $250 for more. I don't consider that cheap.

Actually, yes they do--even expensive ones.
The chemical composition will change over time, and the smell will change--sometimes slightly, sometimes turning into a really bad smell.
