hacking is tough, but mostly depending on what u r trying to hack, if u mean hacking networks with high security, then yes u need to know the network inside out to hack. its always good to know how it is done unless u practice it unethically, heres a link that should answer ur questions

If you know its illegal then why do you ask it?

The only information I will pass on is this -

1 - hacking a computer takes more than just hitting keys on a keyboard.
2 - sometimes hacking doesn't require you to use a PC at all.
3 - go back to school and make something of your life other than asking such questions.

It depends upon how good you are, and how their system is configured.

Given that you had to ask, you're nowhere near good enough, and won't be for a few years at least.

If they're behind a good NAT firewall and have up-to-date antivirus and antispyware it's nearly impossible to hack into their system. Even for an expert.

based on the fact that you asked the question as well as the assumption that you are asking how hard would it be for you to do, I am going to go with next to impossible.... now if you hadn't have asked I might have said fairly easy, well no, I guess I would have said nothing at all.

It depends on how secure the computer is that you want to break into.
