I met Elvis when I was 8 years old in Ft. Knox where my Dad was the head recruiter and as a joke the wrote to Elvis's CO in
Germany about Elvis stopping at Ft. Knox for a reenlistment talk and he thought it was funny so he came and I shook his hand & he said "Do you really know who I am, kid?" so I started singing "Hound Dog" and he laughed, rustled my hair and said "I
guess you do"
I also met Jose Feliciano in the Stuttgart Train Station and that was so weird because he seemed smaller and had two people helping him along.

When I was 10 years old, I met "the Godfather of Soul," James Brown. It was also the first time in my life I had ever seen a limousine. It was at the old Gator Bowl stadium in Jacksonville a few hours before the annual Georgia/Florida football game. James Brown's limo was parked beneath the stands as he was to perform the song he had written for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. The fans were not yet being admitted, but since my dad was with the Athletic Department, we got into the stadium early. My mom allowed my brothers and me to go meet him, since he was standing outside his limo and signing autographs.

Although I only had the barest of knowledge at that time of who he was, I knew he was famous. He spoke kindly to us, and autographed the front of my football program. I remember walking away feeling giddy about actually meeting a famous person and seeing a real-life limousine. I still have that autographed program today. What's even better is that the program's front cover is a specially-made illustration by Jack Davis (of Mad magazine fame, among many others). Meeting James Brown is one of my favorite childhood memories.

I met Freddy Starr at the Night out in Birmingham about twenty years ago. He came and sat next to me and spoke to me for about ten minutes while he was waiting to go on. ( it was one of the place where you have a meal while you watch the performance.) He told me that he had had the runs all day and that if he said on stage that he was taken short it was not a joke!

I also met Dick Emery when he spent the week filming at White Lodge garage in Sunbury. This was in 1966 and I was given a small part which when we went to the studio to see it recorded my part had become even smaller, just a quick glimps of me! He was a very funy man.

I once met Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones on a school visit to Manchester airport and was told to F*** off because I told them I preferred the Beatles music to theirs. Also when in the RAF and stationed at Machrihanish I drove Paul McCartneys Land-Rover to their farm in Campbeltown and had a cup of tea with Linda.

I met Steven Tyler in Chicago back in 1990. Actually I met him twice that visit. The first time I was so star struck I couldnt even speak and I didnt have my camera on me. The second time I saw him, I did have my camera and asked if he would take a pic with me. He did and was actually very nice.

I'm into sci-fi & go to a lot of fairs & conventions do I've met a lot !!!!

Best -
Andy Serkis - Gollum (Really friendly, the person in front of me was on crutches and he was concerned that she had been standing for a long time)

Levar Burton - Geordie la Forge (He was flown in for the event & his plane was late, was literally taken from the airport to the signing, totally jet-lagged, but smiled & carried on - a real pro)

John Rhys Davies - Gimili (a larger than life character, looked at me & in a booming voice started asking me questions about what I did for a living !!! A great chap)

Michael Sheard - Star wars / Grange Hill (a really friendly man who spent as much time as he could talking to people R.I.P)

Patrick Kake - Oreius - Chronicles of Narnia (this was one of his first signings, totally overwhelmed that people wanted to meet him. A great chap)

Royd Tolkien - JRR Tolkien's Grandson (Really enjoying himself, very friendly and was happy to sign & talk to me)

Worst -
Peter Weller - Robo cop (Could not even be bothered to look at me, just signed the autograph and sat back)

Craig Charles - Red Dwarf (Turned up smoking & totally hung over. A little kid was really excited to see him. He did give the kid a quick free autograph, but after the kid went off turned to his helper & made a rude comment about him)

Oddest -
Mark Strickson: Thurlough - Dr Who (he just wanted to tell me, and everyone else, about the documentry he was doing on nat geographical)

Oh - I also nearly got run over by mini-me (Verne Troyer) because of his height & small legs, his is moved round in a wheel chair. His helper accidently pushed it into the back of me !!!

Met George Harrison in a pub in Henley many years ago. Lovely unpretentious guy.Great shame he died so young.
Not sure if Joe Brown, of Bruvvers fame, counts but used to see him in a remote pub in South Oxfordshire.
Both were real human beings but Joe was much noisier!

Yes, a couple singers (Michael Tait and Toby McKeehan), a couple band members with Toby (Shonlock, who's also a singer on his own, and Toddiefunk), a few authors (Mary Higgins Clark, Ann M Martin, Gordon Korman) and an illustrator, although I forget his name. They were all nice. Nothing much happened, a handshake, an autograph, a photo, the end.

I met the keyboard player from Deep Purple in a pub, and we had a drink together.

I have met Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin too, which was REALLY cool, but he was with his family, so I just said hello & he said hello back.

Jenson Button came into a pub in Silverstone just after the GP, to pick up his mum, and I had my photo taken with him.
