If you asked for a "Brazilian" wax, they should have left only a small patch of hair around the front and sides. Your "backside" should have been waxed also. If you want that done, be blunt about it. It's nothing a wax specialist hasn't been asked before. You can't go back now, but when it grows back in, call and make sure the place you go to offers that kind of service, some do not. My suggestion is to wait at least 3-4 weeks.

A brazilian should leave you with nothing but a 'landing strip' bit of hair on the front. If you want rid of the whole lot then that's what is called a 'Sphinx'. Although, I think getting rid of it all makes you look a bit like a barbie doll which is creepy.

It sounds as though the salon you went to didn't do the right thing. You should complain. I do all my own waxing at home and can recommend 'Clean and Easy full body hard wax' that you buy from Sally's Health and Beauty Supplies (you can also get this type of wax from online shops or try Ebay). This is the best wax for brazilians since it only sticks to hair and is far kinder to your skin than strip wax. It looks like thick set honey, you apply it and wait for it to cool before pulling it off. No fabric strips etc are required. You will need a wax heater as well (you stick the whole pot into it)and the initial outlay (heater+wax+spatulas) would be about £50. After that you just need replacement wax pots (at about £12 a pot- should do 2-3 brazilians) and wooden spatulas to apply it.

It would take you a few go's to get the hang of it but I heartily recommend home waxing. It is far cheaper than the salon, easy to do, and you can have whatever finish you want!

Just because they work in a slaon does not mean they know what they are doing. Sounds like this lady did not know. First off, she should have at least discussed the procedure with you first, to know exactly what you were looking for. Brazilian can be meant to leave a small line on the front, or completely remove all hair. In Canada it is more commonly referred to as Sphynx.
I would call back and talk to the manager and explain that you were not satisfied with your service, they *should* redo it properly or refund your money.

I'm a skin care therapist where I work we call it a full Brazilian when you want it all removed I've also heard it called the sphynx wax also. Just tell them next time what exactly you want done.

It sounds like they did an incomplete job. I would talk to the manager and explain that you expected the in between parts to be attended to as well and request that they finish the job. If they refuse, take your business elsewhere. But, next time be sure you and the beautician are on the same page before starting the procedure.

You have to ask. Some places won't do it because of hygiene and having to go into intimate areas.

Failing that, give me a shout, I'll help you. xx
