All I keep hearing is about how thick and lustrous hair is during pregnancy, but has anyone out there experienced dry, ugly hair, and in fact, I think mine is even thinner. My eyelashes are so sparse now that I even quit wearing mascara or curling them, so as not to cause any more trauma to them. They have always been long and full, and my hair has always been pretty till now. I know it will all go away soon, but not soon enough! Did anybody but me have similiar problems?

Most definitely. It's caused by hormone fluctuations. You could also have a vitamin deficiency, since the baby will pretty much take everything from you that they need. I'd discuss it with your OB, and if you aren't already, and can tolerate them, take prenatal or children's vitamins.

Most women who dye their hair, continue to do so during pregnancy. 2 of the reasons people say it isn't a good idea, is because the pigmentation of your hair and skin can change during pregnancy, meaning your scalp may be more sensitive, or the colour may alter when you dye your hair, and because if you were to have an allergic reaction it may put the health of yourself and foetus at risk. But if youve used the same dye before, you know you are not allergic. I used to have highlights when i was pregnant, and when the bleach got on my scalp, i got blisters, which I never experienced so severe before pregnancy. However, when I decided to go dark, I used an ammonia free dye and it was fine. There will always be a minority who advise against EVERYTHING in pregnancy, but the majority do not see a problem with this. Good luck with the baby plans! :)

Don't worry about this its the hormones that are in your body. Just make sure that you are getting enough dairy products into and the rest of the food groups into your body so that you and the baby are healthy. Some women will actually keep losing their hair in VERY little spurts after they give birth and the women that do not get enough calcium get bad teeth and bones after they give birth. This has not personally happened to me but I know people that it has happened to. Just eat right

My hair just got longer and thinner in the front. It might be your shampoo, I would try dove therapy. It is wonders for my hair.
