Oh man...why do I feel like this is a coming out question? I would say to take your time and when you feel its right, tell your parents. Unless we are talking about something serious, like an illness....even then I would say when you think its right. Good luck.

this sounds like a comin' out question. if it is then tell your parents, and hope that they understand and don't judge you because you're not their dream child. if they really love you it won't matter.
Your friends may resent knowing you but they will eventually forget it.

I think it depends on what you discovered about yourself. If it is something very serious then they should know. If its something that will have little or no effect on them, then keep it to yourself.
