They were made from 1979-1981 and then again in 1999. The coins in high uncirculated grades have been going up in price. The key coins to the series are the 1979-P near date $25.00-$50.00.The 1979- clear S proof is worth $80.00, the 1981- clear S proof sells for around $190.00. The S is the mint mark. The 1999-P proof is $22.00. Also the 1981 coins were available only in mint sets, they too look like they are going up in price. Only the high grade uncirulated coins and proofs have value. The above prices are around what a dealer would pay. 1979-P near date listed in a retail guide, at way to high of a price so I lowered it some.

they were minted in San Francisco, Denver and Philladelphia as one dollar coins, it takes 25 coins to make a roll with a roll value of $25.00. Can be spent anywhere that accepts American cash. Minted in 1979/1980/1981 and 1999. The only ones of any value are the 1979S Type 2 and the 1981 S type 2. The type 2 S is very clear where the type 1 looks like a blob.
