You could go to walmart in the auto section and get the leather cleaner there, or just take it to a dry cleaners. I had to do that with my varsity coat because it had leather on the sleeves, and it was cheaper in the long run. I didn't have to worry about messing it up and it always came back perfect. Hope this helps you out.

LEATHER POLISH AND CLEANER (TLC)
60 g Beeswax granules
300 ml Pure turpentine
25 g Pure soap or soap flakes
150 ml Boiling water
6 dr Essential oil of lavender
1. Melt the waxes with the turpentine in a double
boiler (warning low flash point)
2. Grate the soap into a bowl and pour on the boiling
water and stir briskly to dissolve it.
3. Let the soapy water cool slightly and then pour it
into the melted wax stirring well as it makes an
emulsion. 4. Put in a small jar or container with a
tight fitting lid.

60$ for cleaning leather coat is expensive.
I have a leather jacket, before it gets odds, stinky, germy. I wash my leather jacket with Leather Clean at home in water. I recommend you to try with this solution, it cost effect as well, around 12$. So it saves your $$ and your coat. I think this will help you

I'm a cheap SOB but in this case you don't have much choice. If you really like the coat spring for the $60 and get a PERFECT job done at a cleaners. If they mess up they will stand behind you.

Well Honey, my wife and I just went through that, the bill was $40.00. My wife used Dawn and warm water but, it did take some of the finish off, thank goodness it's in a place you can't see so.....I don't know if you want to try. Be careful.

You have to decide whether you want to clean it or buy a new one. $60 sounds like a lot but it is the only way to clean it safely.
