YES
A major difference is in the censorship of information. I frequently have News broadcasts blocked by Alerts from the emergency broadcast system. A typical jam of the system goes something like this ( Today Sunni gunme bzzzzt bzzzzt bzzzzt THIS IS A TEST)
One day while watching BBC there were 5 emergency broadcast tests.
Compare that to open and free information in 2000. I remember watching a History program about digging up relics from Babylon. Looked pretty normal. Even the Hans Blick WMD searches were fairly normal Baghdad was a thriving prosperous community.

NBC announced yesterday that the conflict in Iraq could officially be catagorized as a "civil war". I'd say overall they are showing the true side of the war now, as opposed to mostly propaganda before the war.

Any news service first and foremost duty is to inform and discover...there are no real investigative journalists anymore, or very few. America sure needs them now more than ever.
