When you relate so well with the lyrics of a song, it's that song that will stay with you forever. You almost want to ask "How did that person know?". The fact that your feelings and life can be put to music in a 4 minute block seems amazing since your life is so much more than that. But once things are better, there will be another song out there so explain how far you've come.

My friend's actually made me a cd that pretty much just details what I have and am going through with my ex...and was simply put named the many different sides of hate (or something like that)...

Some songs that are great on it...

Go ************ -- Angie Martinez
Metro - System of a Down
Ex-factor - Lauryn Hill
Charlotte - Kittie
Tyronne - Ericka Badu
Not Gonna Cry - Mary J. Blige
Respect - Pantera
Doll Parts - Hole
Battleaxe - Deftones

plus a bunch of others...

It's a great cd compilation because it really reflects the state of mind that I am in whenever I have to deal with the idiot and is just really energetic and pretty much says FU, youre not worth it:)

We usually take more notice to songs that reflect the way the we feel at the moment because it communicates our emotions on another level. If you are in a really happy mood, listening to something depressing isn't going to have the same impact as it would if you are also sad because you kind of resonate with the musician and writer and how they felt since now their lyrics pertain to your own feelings and state.

Hope your feeling better:)

I know what you're saying... How about lyrics that help you put words to and help with understanding feelings that you're having? In particular teenagers (when they're trying to find themselves, going through all of these emotional rollercoasters, having crushes, being hurt, etc.)... I remember when I was a teenager and how Robert Smith's (The Cure) lyrics helped put words to uncertain feelings... Today i'm a bit more atune to my feelings and thoughts. I understand the world better (not too sure if that's a good thing)... Good question.
Songs... Anything off of 'Disintegration' or 'Wish' and "Charlotte Sometimes" and "Treasure" just to name a few...
Our Lady Peace "Somewhere Out There" reminds me of a long lost (girl) friend "...i miss your purple hair i miss the way you taste..."
The Gufs "Stars" is about falling so deep for someone (the wonderful feeling of a fresh new love)...
