I've only played a few times, but I'm constantly getting burned by mid-range and long passes. I've tried blitzing, but I get blocked and/or burned by my opponent.
Should I be calling a certain type of D? Any strategy ideas would be welcome.

play dime or nickel package. zone. one man blitz if any. i like cover 2.
haven't played much. but with any football game, i usually go 3-4 first two downs. then go with nickel or dime on 3rd. i'm either the defensive end or outside linebacker.

well if ur not good at pass protection, u may not want to be a linebacker or db (be a linemen). when the pass is thrown, u should switch and swat the ball down. play a zone if the guy does a lot of passing crosses. if the guy usually has 3-5 receivers use dime or nickel. that helps with coverage. ask madden if ur not sure (not a good choice but last help). play a run d like 4 linebackers and no blitzing if its first of second down because they might run the ball. on third and long besure to play a pass zone or u can gamble and blitz. mix up the blitzes. if ur getting burned by passes play a zone or a man zone (mix of both might have to look for a while). if ur geting burnt by passes, def go with cover 2
