You are a freak. How much could the bus fare have been? Did you eat the food she brought home? Who earned the money in the first place?
You are married. You share. You help each other. She maybe should have asked first, but get over it. You never took her money before? Hid a few bucks for yourself?

OK so SHE is the one going to do the shopping right?! An getting there is technically part of the shopping, yeah! If she couldn't get there, there wouldn't be any shopping, food or new paper plates! to replace the ones you put in the dishwasher. (lol) Just think about that.

As confusing as this is, I'm going to try & make sense of it.. at least to some degree.... If she needed bus-fare to go to the store to shop for groceries... then my question is... why would it be stealing when she "needed" it to begin with? It's one thing to be on a tight budget, but another to be over bearing about it.

If your wife doesn't work, you need to be giving her money each week for whatever she wants it for.
Did you expect her to carry home the groceries. Might work in your family but that would mean about 8 bags in my family. I'd have taken money from the shopping to take a taxie!

your wife stoled money, she is your wife, how can she steal money from the weekly food money, and as you said your weekly food money, is it not your wife's also, so how can she steal money from her own money, OMG!!!, i can imagine just what a mean person you are, your poor wife.........and if she didn't have any money for a bus fare, how the heck was she going to get there and back, walk, carrying all those shopping bags..............how sad.

I think she has every right to do it. Unless she lives virtually next door. It would certainly be cheaper than taking a taxi if you or she does not drive. If she is your wife, is it not classed as 'OUR' weekly allowance.

You're right. This is a shocking liberty. Divorce the wench immediately - set her free!
Then you can do your own shopping.
