Through a psych principle of de-sensitization...watch or experience enough violence and such and the mind simply refuses to engage in empathy any more because it is too painful. It is a learned trait.
This is the main reason why there is concern about violence in media that children are exposed to. What would be headline news causing nationwide outrage in the 1950's (whose population rarely were exposed to graphic violence in any form of media) is so 'ho-hum' in todays world that it would scarcely warrant a back page of the paper column in the local paper.

I've never been able to watch someone suffer and feel or do nothing. Myself, on the other hand - sure. Life wasn't much fun for me as a teenager. I didn't have great contol of my emotions, so the only way I could get a handle on them was to just block them off. I remember having a major fight with my mum some while after I started doing this (I would've been about 16, I think), and I cried. Then I got out a pen and paper and wrote about what a weird experience it was to cry, as if I was watching someone else do it, and getting the feelings second-hand.

for the reason that we don't provide an analogous gravity to emotion using fact the fairer intercourse, we tend to be extremely much less ruled via our thoughts. I take it that this could be a youthful guy/teen? In our in the previous years we're not any the place close to as emotionally mature using fact the females could be, if we ever are, so maximum adult adult males/boys that age think of in basic terms with the incorrect head. regrettably you probably did tell him which you wanted time aside. Your dude did interpret time aside as "bypass date". next you're able to desire to be clean and intensely literal approximately what you elect.

you cant and shouldnt turn off your feelings. its not healthy. keep them in check, but you still need to deal with them, and act on them. Keeping it inside will just make you lash out in the end in a negative way.
