Follows the periodic table trend in halogen elements. Lower atomic weight - gas fluorine, chlorine - liquid bromine - solid iodine - higher atomic weight. Thats just the way it is babe!

It's molecule is not polar. Plus, it has a small molar mass. So the intermolecular forces are not strong. That means that it is a gas at normal temperature.
