They will probably up your dose to 100mg (they may wait one more month on the 50mg..depending on your progesterone level). The highest dose recommended is 150mg (although I've been on 200mg in the past-unsuccessfully). Generally, your body builds up a resistance to Clomid. Usually it is only advised to be on Clomid for up to 4 months (although I've heard to women getting pg on their 6th month on it). If the Clomid doesn't work even on higher doses, then I would look into seeing a reproductive endocrinologist and trying to find out why you are not ovulating. The number 1 cause of female infertility is PCOS (which causes you not to ovulate in most cases). If that's what you have then treating that is going to be your best bet at getting pregnant. Good luck.

It really depends. I am currently on my 2nd cycle trying for my 3rd child. Today is my 23rd day also. I go tomorrow for my blood tests. Last month, I started on my own and then they gave me clomid and I didn't ovulate. So this month they gave me provera to get my period again and then another round of clomid at the same dose of 50 mg. If I don't ovulate this time there are going to up my dosage. Hope this helps...If you need anymore info..contact me..:)

Your doctor will keep you on 50mg for about 3 cycles and if it doesn't work he will put it up to 3 cycles of 100mg them 3 cycles of 150mg.
I will warn you though if your doctors ups your dosage to 150mg it will make you very moody and emotional. I cried lots when i was on that dosage. Especially when i saw babies.
Clomid didn't work for me at all so im on Metformin now and fingers crossed it will work as i have been trying for 5 years to concieve.
Good Luck

I used Clomid and Ovidrel (the set off shot). (My indications were a touch better "intense" i wager you may want to assert.) I were given pregnant on the 2d cycle - 100mg Clomid and 250mcg Ovidrel. it is going to ensue for you! best of success! stay constructive!

Yes, the doctor will most likely increase the dosage for the next cycle. 100mg is the usual starting point anyway, so don't feel bad that 50mg didn't work for you.

Are you doing a temp. chart? I got pregnant on my second cycle of 50mg and didn't even think I ovulated. When you stop trying and worrying...that's when you'll get pregnant! Good Luck!
