Hi
I want to get my 10 year old niece a couple of cds for Christmas. She listens to country music and I don't have a clue about country music. She prefers women singers. Any suggestions?

There are a lot of women country singers...you could choose from a long list: Lee Ann Womack, Taylor Swift, Reba McIntire, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Lee Ann Rimes, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Dana Carter, Sugarland, there are a lot more, but that ought to help you out a little bit, especially the new ones like Carrie, or Taylor. And they are all good role models for a young girl. So i hope that helps

Josh Turner is a Christian, hence very good lyrics that come from the heart. I am a very strong believer and take my relationship with God seriously, although I still do mess up and make mistakes. Another anger I also approve of and love is Rodney Atkins, Garth Brooks....I agree with your mom... country can have some pretty bad lyrics, etc, just like rap... but I love rap, so had to do some digging and I found some rappers that are clean, an have pretty sweet testimonies, like Lecrea, City Takers, V. Rose (not fast though), etc.... lots of clean singers out there, but not every singer is:)

Carrie Underwood is the hottest (not talking about looks) new thing in country. Faith Hill and Shania Twain are old school, not good for young girls. Gretchen Wilson and the Wreckers are also very popular newer hits.

You can't go wrong with Carrie Underwood. My four year old loves her. Also, Reba McEntire is very good. Martina McBride is good. Check out some of the lyrics of these women, and see if it sounds good for her.

Kellie Pickler's new cd is quite good... Can't go wrong with Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, nor LeAnn Rimes!!!
