if many companies like belevedere and the body shop dont test their prodcuts on animals then why do so many companies still test their products on animals?

humans can live perfectly well without meat or dairy, ive been doing it for years, apart from animals being tested for medical reasons, how do you feel about animals being tested for cosmetic reasons or for curiousity? if some companies can manage to test their products without using animals then why do so many companies still use animals?

Yes we are vegetarians we totally agree with you!!!!!!!!!
At least we know some people care about animals!!!!!!!! Not Only for the animals sake but people are so unaware of all of these chemicals and steroids that they are putting into these animals to make them bigger quicker to get money now. We have no idea what all of these chemicals,etc...are going to do to our children as they grow in the future. By the way please don't turn a blind eye to how animals are being tortured for their body parts while they are still alive. God did not put these creatures here for us to mistreat just because we are more intelligent. Maybe we should start taking I.Q. Tests and just clean out the world of the less intelligent ones.

There is nothing wrong with eating meat. Torturing animals would be wrong anywhere, anytime. However, legitimate medical research using laboratory animals is not only acceptable, but morally and ethically required. Nothing could be more immoral or unethical than injecting a substance into a human being without first doing everything possible to identify serious side effects and to ensure safety. Testing on animals is the ONLY way to accomplish this.

1. I eat meat!
2. It's a common misunderstanding that animals are mistreated when used for research. There are standards and guidelines in place for clinical and non-clinical laboratories for humane treatment of animals. You just can't do what used to be done. The care givers, the animal technicians, take great pride in the care of the animals. And there are usually veterinarians on staff just incase an animal is ill. There is no such thing as doing testing for curiosity sake. To test on animals, you have to follow protocol procedures and justify the use of animals over computer models and literature research. It's actually quite rigid procedures and highly regulated.

I do not believe in the cruel treatment of animals, but if it is going to actually benefit human life (and not just cosmetically) then animal testing should be done. Would you rather it be human testing and a human die in the test? Also we are the top of the food chain. It is in nature, Lions eat those weaker and slower than they are, as does almost every other animal except herbivores. It's just the way things are.

I'm a meat eater and always will be . There's nothing wrong with eating meat as long as the animals that are used for human consumption are killed humanely.

Animals that are used in labratories I find the whole thing sick and disgusting. There's no reason for it .

Companies that test their products on animals are still in the dark ages.

If we didnt Eat Meat, Cows, Hogs, and other animals would be Extinct...There would be no need for them.I work in an Animal Shelter And I see Daily How much people LOVE their Animals as They turn in their 8 year old Lab because she's Bred out! As Much as I Love My Pets If saving a persons life came down to one of Mine dying..I would Euthanize it Myself..People Come First!

I DO agree with you. I can't think of very many things as distasteful as watching a squirrel be beheaded or seeing a cat drawn and quartered when I'm trying to enjoy a good meal.

I say we should eat in the Dining Room, or for a less formal meal, the Kitchen, and reserve the Laboratory for Animal . . .

Animal research can, and should, be done humanely and has saved untold human lives and misery.

Homo sapiens are omnivores.
