History decides who the great Presidents are – not present culture. If the Bush plan for creating a democracy and a counter to Iran in Iraq works out history will reflect on his tenure as successful, it will take a decade or more to tell. If not he’ll be forgotten, like so many before him.

Considering his administration has turned a huge budget surplus into an even huger budget deficit, increased the risk of terrorist attacks (even congressional committees have admitted this), legalised torture and restricted civil rights, I'd have to ask - best at what?

he isn't. im a republican and i can say that with whole-hearted honesty. he's not the greatest president, he isn't even the brightest star in the heavens. but he's a hell of a lot better than Bill "i did not have sex with that woman" Clinton!
