I am trying to teach ,myself how to knit but the beginner books i have dont help all that much. Any ideas??

This is a recommendation for http://www.knittinghelp.com. I'm an experienced knitter and refer to her videos for help with advanced techniques. I think they're also great for beginners.

It's easy with www.lionbrand.com and also www.anniesattic.com Lion brand has easy to follow tutorials and anniesattic has videos for both crochet and knitting. It always helps me when I get in a bind.
