From a biological point of view (I'm guessing this is what you may want to hear, seeing as you asked in the biology section):
To pass on the greatest amount of your genes as possible. That's it, no great reason.

This seems to explain every other living organism better then humans because we use our intelligence to act against our genes. Instinctively, we should all be producing as many successful children as we can so they produce the max number of grandchildren, etc.

My bio textbook says:
"An individuals reason for existence it to produce successful [offspring]"

Life has no purpose, it is up to you to form the values that make a human being different from everything else in nature, like respect for life, truth, helping those around you and and living a decent life.

Everybody dies of something, eventually.

The part before you die is called life, and it doesn't require any purpose for existing other than because you prefer living to not-living.

So get out there and live, before you die.

Consider the alternative.

Death is always associated with Life. You die naturally, by accident or get killed, still Death.
Even in the animal kingdom, they kill one another, though instinctively.
Human beings have reasons... but not enough for us to live peacefully with one another. i guess it's part of our nature & we can never do anything w/it.
