Does the electric fan still work? Could the fan be the problem, but the hot water is still flowing through your heater? Have you also lost the ability to defrost the windscreen? FAN!
In my peugeot 205s and 305 and 405s, it seems that the electric fan gives problems after about 14 years. Yes, all my cars are that old. It's not too hard to remove some screws and they drop down. Look on the passenger's side.
Try to turn the fan speed all the way up and listen for it to work.
Get a fan at the junk yard (auto recycler, whatever you call it in Great Britian) from a wrecked car. Take your old fan along with you, cause Peugeot changes many sizes of things from year to year.
AH HAAAA SO I WAS CORRECT? It was the fan as you reported to us later. Thank you....Trevor.
