I am short and I cannot find regular length shirts anywhere. I have a 21 year old daughter who wear anything other than the longies - why the new trend in LONG shirts?

It started with low-riding pants, and naturally shirts needed to match. I have a long torso but many of the long shirts are even too long for me. I'm 24 though, so I might just be old enough to be beyond the true market for that style. Like you said, it's a trend, so it's not here to stay. As far as it being slimming, they really look best on those that are already slim. I think they can actually enhance a belly.

I'm also short, but I have a long torso...and I have a hard time finding long enough shirts. The long ones that cover your butt are cute, but I don't own any and I think charging 20$ for them is ridiculous since they're so paper thin. Where do you shop that you find long shirts? Or did you just mean the ones I mentioned for 20?

they elongate your torso. I am short too, and I didn't like them at first, but when I started working at Old Navy, that's all anybody would wear, and now I'm so used to them that if I wear a regular length shirt, I'm constatly pulling it down, it feels too short even though it covers fine. If you want to get into wearing them, start out small, buy a couple in basic colors and wear it under your normal tshirts (not baggy ones, but like a graphic tee). You'll get used to it and you'll see why everyone likes them. P.S. they stretch, so buy a smaller size so that it's not so long that it goes to your knees, and it will shrink up a little lengthwise.

For me it depends on the type of shirt I wear. For basic t-shirts and the like, I don't like them too short and I don't like them too long. As I'm borderline plus sized, shirts that are too long seem to accentuate my size. Shirts that are too short just look wrong. There is a happy medium.

i dont get it either! i think it looks rediculous. it doesnt slim your body, it makes your legs look short and stumpy. it's just a trend, and people will get over it soon!!
