The trimfone was attractive in it's day because it broke the mould for style of Phones, prior to it's release there were only standard boring designs.

Well, in the early 70's it was certainly dramatic in appearance compared with the standard telephone of that time. It was very light to hold, and one of its attractive features was the 'trill' sound it made, which started off softly and gradually rose to quite a loud volume. It was therefore less strident than the urgent sound bell of the normal telephone. Interestingly, starlings were adept at imitating the sound of the trimphone and many people would rush inside to answer the 'phone only to find it had been a bird playing a joke!!

I can remember when we got ours in the 70's, really cool and very space age, loved the trill sound it made too, can you remember when they scrapped them all and took them all to one area then had a huge problem with radium because it was on the dial of the trimfone, apparently they are worth a fortune now.
