It will sound fine for a minute and then the drum will vibrate heavily and make a sound that is hard to describe that grows in intensity and then gets less. I've had the belts and an element replaced in the last two years. Is it time to buy a new dryer?

It was sold under the Beaumark name and is now about ..yikes..19 years old. I am not sure what else to say but I won't call in a repair person and have to pay for an estimate unless I have an idea what might be wrong. I just don't think it will be worth it unless it is just a belt.

It doesnt cost a penny to pop out the screws that hold it together. It may be the wheels inside all worn down. They are cheap to replace and worth the time to do so. They take about an hour to do all together but dont cost as much as new dryer

Either get it repaired by a professional or buy a new one depending on the repair cost. I know someone who decided to fix the problem themselves and a few weeks later a load of laundry caught on fire. Someone was even sitting downstairs around the corner and didnt notice until smoke had literally been filling the surface of the ceiling above them. I'd never leave the house with such appliances running with noone home to monitor the house.

If it's an electric dryer they are pretty cheap. Gas, a bit more. Figure laundry eqipment age in dog years. 19 years is a really old dog and time to put it to sleep.
An appliance tech. for 35 years. If I had to guess, it's your rear drum rollers wobbeling.

You did not give enough information.. the brand(make a difference) and of course.. the age which makes a lot of difference.. If it is 10 years old or more, it might be time to get rid of it.. CERTAINLY.. to ask for a repair of it here in the U.S. would be much more costly than buying a new one... I wish you had given me more information.

yes. I recommend rent to own. I bought a huge whirlpool set that was super nice and paid 40 dollars every month. pretty cheap for the quality. but if you have the money all at once, buy from Sears. There prices really are lower.

Probably the seals are leaking and the poor thing is grinding away metal to metal. Look for oil splatters behind the unit. If found time to buy a new one.
