I'm having an engagement ring made by an independant jewler used by family and friends. I am providing a center stone but he is selling me the ring and two canary diamond side stones. My question is do I just accept the price he gives me for the full thing or try to negotiate on it? If so how much? 10%???

Always negotiate! You are providing the center stone. He is providing his creativity. There's no set price for that. Don't insult his talent, but when he offers his price tell him you would like to think about it and go with your gut.....10%, 20%, 30% lower...whatever you feel is fair.

I live by the mantra.....everything is negotiable. Good luck and congrats!
