It depends how much you open your refrigerator and what you have in it. I wouldn't let it go over 24 hours for sure. If you have raw meat, if you let it go 24 hours make sure that you get it cooked all of the way to get the bacteria out of it. Hope this helps and I hope that you get your power back on really quickly!

How are you able to get on the computer? Battery? Just thought about that and was wondering...

It depends on temperature when it gives out. If cool 24 hours max and if warm 12 hours. Generators costing about $400 can save your stuff if you have a lot of meat. Freezers use just over 1000 Amps when they surge on.

Unfortunately all foods such as dairy, meat, poultry, etc. have different temperature ranges for spoilage. The best thing to do is to throw out any dairy, meat, poultry that sits in the temperature range of 40-140 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 1 hour to be completely safe.

I would guess probably 24 hours. It may not be "rotten" by then, but it will be warmer than usual. The stuff in the freezer should "probably" not be frozen again. I'd eat or cook all I could and give away as much as I could.
