How can you get the ESN? I know it is on the phone but is thier another way you can get it because my sister did not write it down? I do not think they can suspend it without the ESN

If it is a prepay phone then there is no mins on it. You can get the ESN by calling the company.

ESN is transmitted everytime the phone is turned on. You cannot see it, but the cell phone service provider can see it.

"temporary out of service" probably mean that credit for the airtime is no longer there and the service was terminated. Unfortunately, you will probably never get the phone back. The realistic solution is to report it, have it deactivated, and purchase a new phone. Hopefully, the service provider can steer you to an inexpensive phone, or give you a price break.

Sounds like it may have been suspended. Did your sister report it stolen? If she did, the company would've suspended the phone and blocked the ESN.

If its the kind of phone that you buy minutes for the people that stole it probably used up all the minutes and that's why you're getting the "temporarily out of service" message. I think the best thing for your sister to do is just get a new phone.

She probably called her phone service carrier and reported it stolen, and the company in turn, put the service for that particular number in suspension, pending on whether she finds the phone. That way, whom ever took her phone can not make calls from it.

Maybe your sister had her # shut off until she can find out who has it. If she didn't, eeekkkk, she is responsible for any calls made. She should file a police report as proof to her carrier, and then she may not encounter out-rageous costs to her. Best of luck to your sis.

Obviously whomever stole it removed the SIM card.
