honestly, Grey's Anatomy is a better show. It's more realistic, better cast, and better written. ER has jumped the shark so many times... and they have too many characters that they try to make lead. You're following like 10 different storylines with them, and they change constantly. I HATE that show. I love Abby, and that's about it. And Susan Lewis... but the show sucked after she left the first time. Grey's Anatomy hands down is the better show!!! And honestly... Chicago Hope may be better than either... If you haven't seen it, you should. It's really good. No longer on, but it's probably on DVD.

It is hard to compare the two. ER is more dramatic, whereas Grey's Anatomy is more of a soap opera. The acting and storylines on both shows are great, but if I could only watch one, it would have to be ER. I have a deeper emotional connection to the characters on ER.
P.S. To those who have not watched ER in a few years: you are missing an amazing show. I don't think it has ever "jumped the shark".

Well...I use to watch ER sometimes and the show is amazing! I saw like 2 episodes of Greys and it was pretty good but to answer this question, I am going to pick ER. I think that ER deals with more hosptial type stuff where Greys shows a lot of their lives and personal stuff (ER does too but not as much)...that's why ER is the better doctor show! (but I think more people are probably interested in Greys...)

I honestly think that Grey's Anatomy is a better show because it's fresher and the actors are all fairly new to the "game" and seem to try harder. ER is getting WAY stale and I haven't watched it in years. Plus, the writing on Grey's is awesome! Did you see the Judy doll head episode last year? How FUNNY!

Grey Anatomy, hands down. On ER they kill everyone who comes in there. I swear no one ever lives and walks out of the ER!

yes ER has been on for years and it is a pretty good show, but Grey's Anatomy is DEFINITELY better. Look at all the juicy affairs, fights, and drama. Could it get any better?
