I would say poverty and lack of education. If every person in the world had a chance to go to school, whether it be High School or College, poverty would decrease significantly. Of course people have to make their own smart decisions, but an education can help with that. You can also tie in a lack of good parenting to the problems in the world. If every parent cared about their child and there was no sort of abuse going on, there'd be a lot less killing, stealing, and other such things. Good parenting can really positively direct a child's life.

Peak Oil. Automobiles, airplanes, plastics, food production, manufacturing, and many other essential operations of our culture depend on oil. We are reaching the point where oil production can no more increase, but will decline. When that happens, poverty, wars, depression, the weakness of the dollar, power outages, and many other adverse affects could happen.
