What type of non- profit? If it is a PTA or the local library advertise among other donors and participants of the non profit. If it's for the SPCA ask to put up posters at the local vets, groomers, and pet shops. For groups like children's advocacy or shelters ask for local radio stations to mention it on one of the morning or after noon drive time spot. Think about who the non-profit helps and go to the target donors that would want to help that group.

more details about the event would help, but for starters, I would contact anyone and everyone who has books-- local booksellers, other merchants who carry books as part of their stock, even publishers if you have a connection of some kind. A connection could be a person who knows someone, or even a shared value of some kind.

Don't overlook the poetential giving power of private individuals either. Everyone's looking for a tax break....

Be sure to remind everyone you ask that their donation is tax deductible (and make sure that it is!) and be sure to offer them and/or their business "sponsor" status for the event.

Good luck!
