"Prostitution is the provision of sexual services for negotiated payment between consenting adults. So defined, prostitution is a service industry like any other in which people exchange skills for money or other reward."

Wow! I did a pro-legalization of prostituion speech years ago in Speech Class in college!
I went all out with the research. From the history of prostitution (including the fact that the Church had secretly used nunneries as brothels to the fact that some popes condoned it) to today's fight for the legalization of prostitution.
Be sure to check out the State of Nevada information regarding prostitution -- it's legal there and the statistics are amazing. It helps out their economy (taxes, tourism, etc.) AND the great part about it is that it's regulated. They are health workers.
Also, check out the legal sex workers' website called COYOTE (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics). Their website is at www.bayswan.org/COYOTE.html.

It is legal in Las Vegas. Those women get tested regularly and have unlimited access to birth control.
I live in L.A. These hookers are pretty nasty. they will do it anyway, why not make sure they are clean?
This is the oldest profession for a reason. There was a time when the only options for a woman was to be a mother, a teacher, a bar maid, of a hooker.
No one chooses this.

1- search for someone who is a sex worker
2- find health stats-
3- this is the important one look up the author last name MCWILLIAMS and his book AIN"T NOBODYS BUSSINESS IF YOU DO which he posts online for free. it has everything you'll need.
also- when you look up health stats you'll find that with legalized prostitution no STDS have been transmitted in recent years
if someone wants to make money with a commodity they are allowed to- unless the body is a commodity. this is not fair
sex doesn't hurt people and if people want to pay for it or be paid for it it's their own business
legalizing this will cut down on crime and abuse.
(if you need anymore help first read the parts in that book about prostitution, then keep searching, and if that doesn't help my e-mail is open if I can assit you more.)

My opinion, based on fact. Maybe it would point you in a different direction, at least.
One of my friends believes that prost. should be legal here, because in Amsterdam, etc., rape is drastically less.
Reported less, or actually less?
Anyway, rape is more a crime of control, of getting what a woman does not want to give.
Being that American women are so much more uptight, or that our culture itself is more uptight about sex, then sex becomes the perfect arena for control.
If the whole culture was less stringent and confused about its sexual mores, maybe rape would drastically decrease.
Not because men could obtain sex more easily, but because they would get less of a psychological joyride out of it!

it will be as the divorce rate keeps going up - they will put the rest of em out of business
cheaper than dating or living with them
I have not crossed over and done it yet but I can see the rise in it as they are less headaches -- way less

prostitution should be legalized for the following reasons
safer for the girls.no beatings no rape,
no need for pimps,
no need for drugs,
safer for clients,as girls would be medically taken care of
money earned would be taxed as earnings
police would be freed up for serious crime

What's safer. A street corner, or a sanctioned brothel?
