hey how did you get a picture of my pride and joy. were you the one who stole my wallet?
to answer your question too many people let their pride get in the way of thinking and understanding facts and reality. sometimes the truth is just outside the realm of understanding and you have to set aside your beliefs and ideas to see that truth or atleast understand why people do what they do.

Pride as a person is usually a good thing. To be proud of yourself, you must feel you are a good person and have achieved personal satisfaction with your life. I don't quite get your point from your pictures, but they were for Stephanie after all ;). But pride is subjective as well. I know people who are proud to march in gay parades and I understand why. I know people who are proud they showed their body parts for cheap beads at Mardi Gras. I know people who are proud they lost all sense of morality during Spring Break. I've even known people that are proud to be racist. Pride can be empowering and it can also be corrupting.

Hubris, the Greek word for pride, was the common tragic flaw of characters in Greek dramas. Yes, pride cometh before a fall.

It depends on the type of pride.
Pride in ones country is a good thing,
Pride in ones accomplishments is a good thing.
Being proud of others is a good thing.
Arrogant pride is a bad thing.
Thank you very much, while you're up!!

What do you mean by pride? Pride in what? I assume politics since it is posted in the political section. Pride is a double edged sword, it can drive a man to disaster or can build a man from nothing.
Good Luck and Take Care

Pride is a sin, to be proud of what you have done is good to be arrogant is a sin.
It's a longer lecture but that's the short version:
Arrogant is the sin of pride
Proud is when you kids finish college.

being able to have pride in something is a good thing.. letting your pride dictate your decisions is not.. pride is fine as long as you keep an open mind.
i think Jim W. meant it as he is proud of his disdain, not the disaster itself.. though i could be mistaken :)
