if a school locker slams in a hallway on saturday, and there's no one around, does it make a noise?

Why is a locker being slammed on a Saturday? There's no school on Saturday, unless you live in France, I think. There must be a ghost slamming the lockers................lol!

Anyways, I think that it does, but since no one is around to hear it, it gets lost in the air. Sound waves travel and normally a person will hear the sound in a matter of seconds. But if no one is around to hear it right then, it keeps going through the air but not as strongly as before due to the large amount of air and space, until someone either hears it, or the sound gets faint and is lost in the air.
