My parents live in the country in Oklahoma and have so since before I was born. There has been a bunch of people move behind them , but not on their property and they shoot their guns all of the time. My dad has PTSD and it has made my mom very tense because they are SOOOO loud. It even scares me. They tried talking to the neighbors, but they told them that is why they moved to the country was to shoot. They called the sheriff, but there is no laws for it.

My parents are going crazy and they shouldn't have to leave this place I've known as home all my life just because people like to shoot their guns 24/7... and the thing is, there is a rifle range around 4 miles away they could go to, but they don't care about anyone else. Please help!!

they are being shot within 1/4 of a mile. One neighbor even has his target pointed toward our land with a tin thing behind it, but the bullets go through it... we've seen it.

You should just shoot back. Maybe put a big target on their house!

No, but seriously if they do it at the same time everyday, maybe your dad could have time where he puts headphones on and listens to music? I don't really think there is much that can be done about it though. Sorry!

Nope,....my parents have done nothing. Ever. Even when I was in real trouble, they still said no. My Grandad gave my Dad 5 houses on his 21st birthday....nice eh. He sold them all over the years to support his business, which he has sold and now lives very comfortably off in Southern France in a beautiful Gite... But I'm glad. I don't feel any responsiblity for helping my parents in later life. I will make sure that I help my kids as much as I can when the time comes...I couldn't sit back and watch my children struggle if I have time and/or money to help.

In my area, it is against local laws to discharge a firearm within 1000 feet of any occupied dwelling, along with that go the laws regarding carrying a concealed weapon, etc. Call your local law enforcement authorities and question them. Have an officer stop by and ask him/her. They will be happy to provide you with the information you need.

I just saw your comment regarding "no laws for it". This is odd. If the county law cannot or will not help, try the state police.
