For a long time now I have loved to do cross stitch. I also love beads and would love to learn how to loom a picture using beads. I would like to construct my own loom for that purpose but all the looms I have seen that are for sale cost a lot more than I can afford to pay right now. I am sure that I could construct my own loom that would work just fine if I only had the instructions, or knew where to get them. If anyone knows of, or knows how I could obtain instructions for a homemade loom for beading I would be very thankful. I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks so much.

It's been at least 15 years since I have even seen it, but I had my husband make me a rectangular wooden box roughly 6 or 7 inches wide, 15 or so inches long The ends are roughly 6 inches high & the sides, 3 or 4 inches. I put a screw on each end to tie my threads to and rounded off the corners and edges for where the threads go over with a sander. you really don't need to put the thread spacer dents into the lip of the wood--once you get your first row of beads on, the threads are spaced. This loom works for me--can store my beading supplies in it too. I don't think there is a standard loom size--just as long as you have it raised off the table a few inches and it is wide and long enough for what you want to make
