68mb of ram isn't a great deal, fragmenting the hard drive has little effect on you cpu's ram as the hard drive is the storage capacity not the actual thinking space(RAM).If i was you i would have a look at the task manager by pressin the keys Ctrl,Alt and delete at the same time. Then select the processes tab and scroll down to see what is eating all the ram which will be in a % in the cpu usage indicator located at the bottom, ther will be an image name for e.g. taskmgr.exe find out which one is the highest cpu usage. Any problems let me know....

You don't need to run Auslogic or any other disk defrag more often than once a month, unless you are doing a lot of work with photos, or big disk grabbing projects like that. It really sounds like you need to upgrade your computer's RAM memory. Unless you have 512Mb of ram, you don't have enough to run Windows XP efficiently, with all the security and protective software you have running. Try this to see how much ram you have: Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools, System Information. When this loads, scan down until you see Total Physical Memory, and Available Physical Memory. This will tell you the whole story. Again, if you don't have 512Mb of ram, you don't have enough.
If you would be comfortable with adding a memory stick, you can do it yourself. If you aren't then find a good technician and have the RAM upgraded to 512, or whatever the maximum is your computer's motherboard and processor will handle.

it is not necessarily the amount of free RAM that is important in most cases but the amount of total installed RAM
Windows XP sp2 (especially if you are running Norton AV or Mcaffee AV) requires a minimum of 512 Mb RAM to be installed
otherwise the machine runs very slowly....(I thought it was a virus initially when I first encountered this)
Extra RAM is always nice to have especially as games develop they are becoming more and more resource hungry
for a current games machine I would recommend a minimum of 1Gb ram, if you are only using this machine for browsing, email and word processing 512 would be sufficient for the time being (as these apps are also becoming more resource hungry)
Bellatrix & overlord, Sry but you guys are talking about free disk space not RAM However windows also performs poorly if you have below about 200mb free disk space
as far as Defrag is concerned, most people should run it about once a fortnight, unless you are an edit files monster, or require contiguous space on your hard drive for video editing

no it's very low memory, good free mem for xp is 128,
if you run many program at the same time, your speed comedown.
good ram for windows is 256,512 and 1GB.
you can use "system mechanic" software for defrag ram.
download it from below.
disk defragment for every month is enough.
many of program run in start up but you don't see, go to task manager>process and see how much program are run.
in usuall only one anti virus is enogh; it is either anti-virus and anti-spyware too.

Go here and use Crucial.com's memory scanner: http://www.crucial.com/index.asp This will tell you what type and how much extra RAM memory your PC will take (which depends on your motherboard).
Another programme that I recommend you download is ccleaner (crap cleaner): http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000-2144_4-10315544.html Set a restore point and back up important files before running ccleaner. Ccleaner will clear out such items as temp. internet files, as well as other garbage clogging up your PC. Your PC running slow could simply be caused by garbage (temp files, etc).
As the others have said, you don't need to defrag so often. Nor do you need rambooster.
Keep your security as you have listed in your question and keep them up to date. Instead of using the Win xp's Firewall, I would use zonelab's free firewall instead: http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10039884.html

Enough free ram for what?
In my humble opinion you are running defrag and disk cleaner way too often and I'd ditch the ram booster and other duplicate defraggers. I have a feeling you don't need any added programmes.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

it sounds like you got too much programmes running...what i would do is have virtually no security on my PC, except one good one like Nortan anti virus...what i would do then is back up all my important files onto a few other back up CDs...then put it away somwhere...then have my XP reboot/office and other programmes on disc as back ups too.....then you can run your pc with out having to worry too much about viruses etc..cos if anything goes badly wrong just reboot your PC...the other way is if you want alll the protection, just up grade to more memory/processer etc
