on the first try... and if you failed multiple times, how much times did you fail before you passed?

i have failed 4 times! i am sick of givin tests now...everytime i am so close to passing and then i go and make a serious mistake and im back at square one!!!

Live and learn! Go do it again when you are able. Know that you need to think before you act, as the tester may try to trick you. That doesn't seem right to me, but when I took my test, I drove in a huge snowstorm for the first time. The guy yelled at me the whole time. My turn signal didn't work. It was frozen or something. I was so sure I didn't pass- I did. That guy was such an a**h*le. Good luck next time. My friend needed three tries in NY.

ME! I was with this old hag who looked like she should have retired 20 years ago, but she was such a spaz! I was instructed to get into the turn lane and turn my left blinker on and I did. I was the first one in the lane and I was doing exactly what she said. But she made me soooo nervous that when the left turn light and the straight lane light turned green at the same time, I panicked and went straight and cut off about 2 or 3 cars and she started yelling "You can't do that, you can't do that!!!" I knew right then that I had failed and so I told her to pretty much shut up and stop screaming in my ear. I think I started crying when my grandma had to drive me home. Pretty funny when I think back on it. :)

I didnt, I passed on the first try when I was a kid, and when I turned 21 I took a week long class at Skip Barber school of racing and I kicked asss there too!

I failed my first one; the cop said turn right here, and I did. There was a stop sign, which was behind a tree branch, and I didn't see it...I found out later that was a favorite trick of the police in that particular Iowa County Seat (Jefferson, Iowa, though we won't name any names). I got it the next day in the next county! Good luck on your next one!

I failed the 1st time because I didn't stop long enough for the stop sign!! The second time I went back & it was pouring down rain & the instructor said just go you passed!! I guess he didn't feel like being out in the rain!!

never, but i took a drivers education class which helped a lot. my teacher also gave the test which made it more comfortable since we werent total strangers. but i hated how he always ended the class with a gory drunk drving accident video.
my worst scores were on parallel parking which i still suck at and not giving the right of way to oncoming traffic during a left turn at a green light. imagine that as a minor in a car with the instructor and 2 other students in the backseat during rush hour. the instructor looked like he was going to kill me and pee his pants. funny stuff now, but to this day its the one thing i am patient with while driving.

yeah once, I made the mistake of making the appointment for a different city than my own, so I had no clue where everything was, and besides, the city had a lot of one way and two way streets, it was confusing. The next time I took the test in my home city and aced it.
