Firstly we do not hate Americans and you do not threaten our values.

(although you may get some hateful answers now)

I don't think that anyone in the UK hate the Americans as such.
They're a confused lot made up of so many nationalities and cultures supposedly under the one flag, and unfortunately they seem to think that they have to control everything that moves on this planet.
In the UK we find it hard to believe that a glove puppet like Bush could have been elected President [even if the votes were fiddled] but many of us have friends and relatives on the North American continent.
There is a school of thought that thinks the USA, because it has the Atlantic and Pacific oceans separating it from the rest of the globe, just couldn't really give a damn about anyone or anything else.
Where can you go without seeing Coca-Cola or MacDonald's litter lying about?

No I'm pretty sure they don't , a small minority may dislike Americans, a small minority of Americans may hate Brits.
But then all over the world we have people that hate each .
I have worked with Americans all over the world, its silly to generalise. I can only say I have got on very well with the vast majority.
The answers you get here will really prove nothing at all, perhaps you have read some Brit wise cracks on this forum against Americans? This is mainly down to Americans calling the UK 'cute' etc or referring to the UK as England! a very sore point to some of us.
As for upsetting UK values forget it.
I'm sure you know your self that we get along fine, don't forget most Brits have never even met an American face to face. I also think we have far more in common with Americans than we do with EU countries, I wont go into that it would be 'politically incorrect'!
I just read the answer you got from 'godly kepo' I'm a Brit and I also think we should recognise that we have very poor children here in the UK as well as Africa, and as well as America. I'm a Brit my opinion is mine it doesnt mean that all Brits think as I do, what a stupid torrent of outrage over some US guys own opinion.

You can't generalise like that. Some of us may hate Americans, some may love them, some may be indifferent.

Just because 10 people on here make comments against them doesn't mean all 60 million people in the UK hate Americans.

Nothing they do threatens UK values. That's a silly statement. How can they?

I'm Welsh.

I don't like some of Americans' attitudes - ie

"poor people are poor because they are lazy, drunk, stupid etc/ I'm not supporting them out of my taxes, I want to keep all my money for myself to spend on greedy rubbish, designer crap and McDonalds".

(Thats a horrible, horrible way to treat people. Anyone who thinks that should remember that they are one pay cheque away from poverty themselves)

I don't like their ignorance about any other country other than themselves. When Americans say things like "Do you have air conditioning in the UK"? It makes me laugh. Do they really think we are all living in caves still?

Or the idea that this country is still the way it was when the Pilgrim Fathers went to America and we have no freedom etc. Thats just stupidity and ignorance - our lives are no different to your own (and the government also supplies us with healthcare which is more than you get, what do YOUR taxes pay for?)!

Its nothing they "stand for" really - and they don't "threaten" our values at all - I don't like the way that the American Government will go to war at the drop of a hat and don't seem to care how many civillians get killed in the process.

It also seems a bit hypocritical that they are all "war against terror" since 9/11 but prior to that they were pumping God knows how much money into the IRA's murder machine.

All that "We are the greatest Country on earth" is annoying and arrogant too. Every other country on this planet laughs at them when they do that. and as for "everyone wants to live here" - I sure as hell don't want to live in a country where any redneck can carry a gun and you have to pay to see the doctor!

I've met some really nice Americans, although a lot do seem really clueless about anything that happens outside their back yard, which is depressing as they are supposed to be the most powerful country on earth.

I don't hate the American people.... Just Mr G W Bush and his government. I don't know why he doesn't sort out the USA internal problems before dragging the UK and the rest of Europe into a war that no-one wants.

most people dislike what the american governent stands for - ruthlessly serving the interests of big business, eroding the rights of other nation states via GATT, WTO, IMF etc - but at the same time find most americans to be reasonable, decent individuals. the state is not the same as the person. mind you, only 15% of americans have a passport, so the ones we see in europe aren't probably a fair representation.

you cant lump all americans into one. I dont like all Americans I have met, but like the majority.
I refuse to judge people I have not met or talked to. How can anyone say whether they hate Americans. They have never met them all so its bull.
What is widely disliked in the UK is that Blair is up Bush's ****. Bush went into Iraq. Blair followed.
Bush is now expected to pull out soonish. Blair will follow.
It is not Americans, it is our prime minister and Bush many people have a problem with :)

Uhm, I don't get it, you guys speak the same language, have same ancestry....Yet you differ a lot.

I do not dislike Americans, but I hate America, or the US to be more specific. The image that America portrays to the world, especially though media and film, is pompous, selfish, crass, and holier than thou. Further, we hear a lot about American cults, where people dress funny and where men keep harems and throw their boys out on the streets.

The Brits on the other hand, appears to be a bit more content with the fact that they are mere human beings. They cast ugly people in their movies, joke with themselves, and they do not make movies in which they safe the world. Oh, and they have nice accents.

Your country appears to be the exact opposite. And I am completely unbiased, I am from Africa.

Most ppl in the Uk with sense , appreciate our relationship with usa and support the role they play as our ally and the battle to spread democracy where evil reigns.
Unfortunately , many of the loony left jump on the "blood for oil" bandwagon , simply because its trendy.Yes i really mean it, most of these ppl couldnt point to iraq or north america on a map.
The hypocrites watch american Tv , wear american styles, read about american celebrities and have sheltered under the amercian nuclear umbrella for the duration of the cold war.
Now we face a new enemy , for which USA has taken the lead.
I am proud our soldiers share the noble responsibilty with our great ally.
I am embarrassed by the british who hypocritically oppose USA.
god bless our great ally and friend.

No I love the American people. The liberal do gooders and loony left may make a lot of noise and burn the flag of America and that of Britain on our streets, but they do not represent the majority. America has never bombed our underground nor condoned the murderous act. Something that could not be said for some of our liberals. In fact did'nt one of our mayors endorse the employment of a convicted terrorist on London Underground?
