I have to agree with the former answer- human beings are capable (at least on this planet) of performing complex cognitive processes that enable them to improve their quality of life beyond that of the rest of the animals in the animal kingdom, coupled with our ability to eliminate natural predators. I would add though that some organisms such as bacteria and viruses would "beg to differ" on this matter, since they have claimed millions of lives more than any other shark, tiger or any other natural predator out there that might benefit from a dead human being. Therefore, I wouldn't be in such a hurry and claim that humans are the superior race on this planet.

frequently because of the fact so a techniques human beings are the only ones sensible sufficient to cultivate yet another animal, and then the 1st to circulate "hiya, look at that stuff, i ask your self whether it is any sturdy. It particular could be handy if shall we consume some little bit of this animal with out murdering it." and then shazzam! some cultures have been eating milk and ingesting cheese to stay to tell the story, fairly than murdering all their useful cattle. in addition they discovered that cheese may well be stored for a protracted time particularly certainly, or maybe gets extra effective whilst they did, while in the event that they have extra meat than they are able to consume, they have have been given a pair days to make certain what to do with it. This replaced into previously different techniques of keeping, needless to say, whilst any keeping that replaced into accomplished replaced into accomplished with bacterial or fungal cultures, maximum in lots of cases by using twist of destiny.

Because they can.
That is why I worry about the future... Did you ever see the movie "Contact"? I believe Carl Sagan had a much more optimistic view of extra-terrestrials than he (as a human) has a right to.
But I sure hope he was right :).

for whatever reasons humans just dont mind their own. they invade all other environments and take over. most other animals just have the instinct to live their lives in harmony with the rest of the world.

Walking upright frees up our hands to be used to do stuff, opposable thumbs allow us to grasp and use tools, and large well developed brains allow us to solve complicated puzzles and problems.
