I think $25.00 is a good amount in general, especially since she's not really a good friend of yours. I'd think that was pretty generous.

What's the average cost of things from that store? You wouldn't want to send her into a store where the cheapest thing is $50 and only give her a $20 gift card. If she can find something nice for $20 or $25, that is a perfect amount. It doesn't come off as cheap either.

A gift card worth $40.00(or more) for a clothing store would be the perfect amount. Anything less would seem cheap, I think because clothes are expensive to buy and some people are picky about what they want. This amount could buy at least one rather nice piece or maybe a few. And if there is a bit left over cash, then you look good cause they didn't have to shell out more money!

Just like everyone elses answers, $25.00 is a good price for just a co-worker..Like your question said you do not want to be cheap so go ahead and go for $50.00..If $50.00 is not enough to get an outfit at the store then she can just add money with the gift card and she won't have to worry about not having enough money.

Isnt there a price range for gifts. I would go with that if not 20-25 is a good amount.

$25.00 is good for a coworker you're not really good friends with. I don't think it's cheap at all. If it were a close friend or family member, I would give 50 or 100, but for an aquaintance, 25 sounds good to me.

I always give $50 to adults and $30 to kids.
Oh but if you're not that good of friends I would go with $20-$25

$25.00 is the typical amount to give (wedding gift, birthday present, shower present). We have a grab bag gift with my mom's side of the family and the set amount is $20.00, but that is family.

whatever you can afford, Christmas is not about the amount, it's about the thought. Don't forget God provided us with a gift that no other gift can replace or amount to. so don't go all out, whatever you feel in your heart is sufficient.
